“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self” -The Bhagavad-Gita
Our Yoga Offerings.
Hatha Yoga
This class combines asana (yoga postures), pranayama (breath practices) and meditation to invoke a sense of peace and wellbeing. This practice will leave you feeling relaxed, energized and balanced.
Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra translates to mean “yogic sleep” or “deep relaxation with inner awareness”. This practice is designed to systematically remove physical, mental and emotional tensions to promote deep rest and relaxation. By removing these tensions, we create space for the body and mind to heal.
Yin
This practice involves a series of long-held postures (3-6 minutes) that require little to no muscle engagement and are often supported by yoga props. On the physical level, this practice “exercises” our “yin tissues”- our tendons and ligaments - making them longer, thicker and stronger. On an energetic level, we open, energize and stimulate our meridians (energy channels), helping to prevent stagnation.
Pranayama
Yoga teaches us that the breath and the mind are mirrors of each other. In this class, we will practice breathing techniques that help to create a more peaceful and non-reactive mind.
Meditation
In meditation classes at Ananda Natural Medicine, we will use yogic concentration techniques to promote heightened states of awareness and inner feelings of peace and clarity.
Restorative
This practice involves a series of long-held postures (5-15 minutes) that require little to no muscle engagement and are often supported by yoga props. These long-held supported postures are designed to promote conscious rest and deep relaxation.
